  • Unlocking the Secrets of Ley Lines: The Mysterious Pathways of Earth’s Energy

Ley lines, also known as ley paths or dragon lines, are hypothetical pathways that crisscross the Earth’s surface, believed to be conduits of concentrated spiritual and energetic forces. These enigmatic lines have captivated the imagination of spiritual seekers, researchers, and enthusiasts for centuries, sparking debates and investigations into their existence and significance.

    Origins of the Concept
The concept of ley lines originated in the early 20th century, when British amateur archaeologist Alfred Watkins proposed the idea of “leys” – straight tracks or pathways that connected ancient monuments, megaliths, and sacred sites across the British landscape. Watkins believed that these pathways were created by ancient cultures to facilitate spiritual and ceremonial practices.

Colour therapy, also known as chromotherapy, is a holistic practice that utilizes the energy of colours to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. This ancient healing art has been used for centuries in various cultures, including Egypt, China, and India, to balance and restore the body’s energy.

    The Science Behind Colour Therapy

  • An Irish Saint, Lent, and a Teacher Training Day

    MARCH 2025

    PATRICK AND OUR TEAM

With the month of March comes the world-famous Irish feast of Saint Patrick! But who was Patrick, and why was he important to Ireland? You can find out more about that on our Youtubechannel, with a neatly concise video by Séamus, one of our Retreat Team leaders.

But why would Saint Patrick be important to us today? For us at An Tobar Nua, we’re continuing the work of the many great men and women of God who have come to Ireland over the centuries to share the Gospel. Recently, we were led by Antrim, one of our team members who is also a poet and leads some creative writing workshops at the Café, to reflect and write about Patrick’s ministry.  The poems below, written by various team members, are some of the fruit of this poetic introspection. Happy Saint Patrick’s day!

  • Matthew 25:31-46

I was naked and you clothed me; sick, and you visited me

Jesus said to his disciples: ‘When the Son of Man comes in his glory, escorted by all the angels, then he will take his seat on his throne of glory. All the nations will be assembled before him and he will separate men one from another as the shepherd separates sheep from goats. He will place the sheep on his right hand and the goats on his left.
‘Then the King will say to those on his right hand, “Come, you whom my Father has blessed, take for your heritage the kingdom prepared for you since the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food; I was thirsty and you gave me drink; I was a stranger and you made me welcome; naked and you clothed me, sick and you visited me, in prison and you came to see me.” Then the virtuous will say to him in reply, “Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you; or thirsty and give you drink? When did we see you a stranger and make you welcome; naked and clothe you; sick or in prison and go to see you?” And the King will answer, “I tell you solemnly, in so far as you did this to one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did it to me.”

‘Next he will say to those on his left hand, “Go away from me, with your curse upon you, to the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you never gave me food; I was thirsty and you never gave me anything to drink; I was a stranger and you never made me welcome, naked and you never clothed me, sick and in prison and you never visited me.”

  • Mark 9: 2 – 10 Transfiguration

The episode of the Transfiguration accompanies us to discover the identity of Jesus.

A few verses earlier, in Cesarea Philippi, Jesus asked to his disciples, “Who do people say I am?”. An the disciples told him, “John the Baptist, others Elijah, others again, one of the prophets” (8:27-28). We know that after this Peter spoke up and said: “You are the Christ” (8:29) but when Jesus announced his Passion (and Resurrection) Peter resisted that and rebuked Jesus and Jesus told him to step back and occupy the position of the disciple.

Recalling the dynamics of what comes before helps us to understand the dynamics of the episode narrated in today’s Gospel.

The Church and the world stand in need of renewal. Join us today on the Exodus 90 app as we begin the work of renewal in our own souls and hearts.

    E90 Header-2

There is no greater contribution we can make than to cultivate our personal holiness through prayer, fasting, and almsgiving this Lent.

Lent is a time of great renewal. God calls us into uncommon freedom in Jesus Christ, but many obstacles stand in our way. Likewise, when Israel made its Exodus out of Eygpt, they had to face the enemies of God in battle in order to enter into the Promised Land. Even after being set free from slavery, the Israelites themselves must take up the fight to live within God’s promises. Joshua arose as the faithful leader who overcame his enemies through his faithfulness, obedience, and worship.

Teach Me to Pray - Header

Lent is a time in the wilderness, fighting the great spiritual battle against sin, following the way of the Cross. This season should offer us added impetus to focus on growth in prayer and to be vigilant in our practice of asceticism. To support this growth, beginning today, you will find “Teach Me to Pray” on the app’s Home Tab. Whether you are half-way through Exodus 90 or just starting Lent with Exodus, “Teach Me to Pray” is a Lenten retreat on prayer to help you enter more deeply into your daily Holy Hours through guided meditations and sacred art. It follows Rob as he makes daily visits to a local monastery to receive spiritual guidance from the monk, Fr. Benedict. Their daily conversations become the springboard for exploring the writing of the saints and the beauty of sacred art, inviting us more deeply into our own meditation and prayer.Day 1 of “Teach Me to Pray”

  • The Christian Home…

It used to be quite common for people to have a plaque hanging on their wall saying, ‘Christ is the Head of this Home’.

It sounded very good, but in many of these homes, one fears that Christ was not the Head. It is not what we say that matters but what we do. Let us beware of hypocrisy.

Christ is the great King and one day every knee shall bow to Him. It is best to acknowledge Him now rather than be forced as rebels to bow on the Judgment Day. ‘Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little’ (Ps. 2:12).

God gave us His Bible to be the guide as to how we should live and we find there all the directions we need for a Christian home. Remember the Shorter Catechism. ‘What is the chief end of man? Man’s chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy Him forever’.

  • Christian mysticism

Coming to know Christ and being lead by the Holy Spirit, I find myself being drawn into practices which bring me closer to Jesus.

Whether it is doing more charitable work, both outside and within my church, coming to know how to invite the Holy Spirit in through Prayer and Worship, or getting to know Jesus by spending quality time with him in adoration and through quiet contemplation, while reading scripture, Divine Readings or Lectio Divina.

Recently I attended what is called in the Catholic Church an unbouding, this process took two hours, where members of the ministry team asked me about my life, what I was attached to and then prayed over me while I renounced all of the ways the enemy had a hold on me.

Renouncing lies I had being telling myself, not knowing that this was the enemy lying to me and that my thinking had no bases in Christian circles, pure fabricated lies.

One such lie we tell ourselves which is propagated by the enemy is this identification with ourselves, the I, Body or ego.

And not until we come back to Jesus and his church do we realise that “I or Me” has no meaning.

While attending this unbouding one of the Ministry team said I had a great understanding of the scriptures and immediately pointed out that I had a love for studying the Bible, which I do.

She introduced the idea of Christian Mysticism, with which I had never come across before.

I have heard of Mysticism, particularly from a Far Eastern perspective and have heard of the Mystics of Asia and India, but never associated this term with Christianity.

While I thought the whole goal of me coming to know Christ and becoming a part of the Catholic Church was to renounce ties to such other Spiritual groups.

Here i will explain my research and why i am delving into and enjoying the idea of exploring Christian Mysticism.

    Christian mysticism

Christian mysticism is the tradition of mystical practices and mystical theology within Christianity which “concerns the preparation [of the person] for, the consciousness of, and the effect of a direct and transformative presence of God” or Divine love. Until the sixth century the practice of what is now called mysticism was referred to by the term contemplatio, c.q. theoria, from contemplatio (Latin; Greek θεωρία, theoria), “looking at”, “gazing at”, “being aware of” God or the Divine. Christianity took up the use of both the Greek (theoria) and Latin (contemplatio, contemplation) terminology to describe various forms of prayer and the process of coming to know God.

  • Psalm 47: 1-2

Clapping Hands to the Lord: A Biblical Expression of Praise and Worship
Clapping hands is a universal gesture of joy, appreciation, and celebration. In the context of worship, clapping hands is a powerful way to express praise and adoration to God. This physical act of worship is deeply rooted in biblical tradition and is a meaningful way to connect with the Lord.

    Biblical Precedent
The Bible is filled with examples of clapping hands as a form of worship and praise. In Psalm 47:1, the psalmist writes, “Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy.” This verse emphasizes the importance of expressing joy and praise to God through physical gestures like clapping.

    Expressing Joy and Gratitude
Clapping hands is a natural response to joy and gratitude. When we experience the goodness and blessings of God, our hearts overflow with praise and thanksgiving. Clapping hands is a physical expression of this joy, allowing us to release our emotions and connect with God on a deeper level.

Jesus, My Constant Companion: Finding Peace in His Presence
In a world filled with uncertainty and chaos, it’s easy to feel lost and alone. But as a child of God, I’ve come to realize that I’m never truly alone. Jesus, the Son of God, is always with me, watching over me, and guiding me through life’s ups and downs.

    The Promise of Jesus’ Presence
In Matthew 28:20, Jesus promises, “I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” This promise brings me comfort and reassurance, knowing that no matter what challenges I face, Jesus is right there with me.

  • Walking by Faith…

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.(Hebrews 11:1-3)

    Walking by Faith…

In order to live by grace, we must be willing to walk by faith. For those who actually depend upon the Lord day-by-day, thereby accessing His grace, the Scriptures regularly proclaim the extensive consequences of walking by faith.

Faith is the assuring confirmation of the wonderful things that we anticipate God will do. As our faith grows in the promises and purposes of God, that faith brings us more substantiation of the certainty of God’s heavenly plans.

  • In Ephesians 1:13 the Bible says that “when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit.”

What does it mean to be sealed with the Holy Spirit?

A seal is an identifying mark often placed on a letter, contract, or another document. It showed that what was in the letter came from the person whose seal was on the outside. In the ancient world, cattle and even slaves were branded with a seal to show whom they belonged. This mark would deter people from stealing them because they had the seal upon them.

Ephesians 1:13 – You were Sealed in him

The Bible uses this term in a few different ways, and when considered together, they help provide a full picture of what Paul is after here in Ephesians. In the Old Testament, God set a sign on his chosen ones to mark them out or set them apart as his possession and to keep them from destruction (Ezek. 9:4–6).

We read in Revelation 7:3 that God places a seal on his people to identify them and protect them from wrath. We also see that the guards put a large stone over the tomb of Jesus to seal it (Matt. 27:66) and of John being told to seal up the words of the prophecy (Rev. 22:10). This communicates security. We also read of God authenticating the relationship with his seal (John 6:27). This is similar to the concept of Abraham’s circumcision serving as a sign and a seal of his righteousness (Rom. 4:11).

  • Jeffrey Epstein documents expected to be unsealed…

Nearly 200 names linked to Jeffrey Epstein expected to be made public.

    Jeffrey Epstein

Nearly 200 names connected to the Jeffrey Epstein-Ghislaine Maxwell sex trafficking conspiracy could be released by a New York judge as soon as Tuesday, exposing or confirming the identities of dozens of associates of the disgraced financier that until now have only been known as John and Jane Does in court papers.

A deadline for objections to the unsealing of the names passes at midnight on Monday, nearly nine years after victim Virginia Giuffre filed a single defamation claim against Maxwell, daughter of the late British press baron Robert Maxwell, in 2015, that in turn produced the names in legal depositions.

Former US president Bill Clinton was identified by ANC News as “Doe 36” and is mentioned in more than 50 of the redacted filings, according to court records. Giuffre made no allegations of wrongdoing by Clinton, but maintains she met him on the island – which Clinton has said he never visited.

  • “St. Joseph, just and true, with a father’s care you raised the child Jesus, and with a husband’s love, you shared your life with Mary, his mother. I entrust myself to your care and place in your hands this request of mine to find housing for my family.

    Housing ideas:

    – Sub letting –

What is subletting? Subletting happens when an existing tenant lets all or part of their home to someone else. That person is known as a subtenant, and they have a tenancy for all or part of the property which is let to them. They also have exclusive use of the accommodation that is let to them.

Why not rent a house with a friend and Sub let one of the rooms your not using to another friend or person you know, to reduce the overall rent for each room.

While you have an extra tenant in the house, the landlord may not necessarily increase the rent for the overall house, reducing your own rent for your room and reducing cost of bills.

    – Use Facebook Marketplace to find suitable tenants.

    – include images of rooms with Religious memorabilia, to ensure you find tenants have similar beliefs and aspirations to your own.

    – Renting your home –

Renting, also known as hiring or letting, is an agreement where a payment is made for the use of a good, service or property owned by another over a fixed period of time.

    – If you are lucky enough to own your own property, why not rent a portion of it to a tenant.

    – Housing Students –

While the same applies to renting or sub letting rooms to students.

    – Be warned here, although rental potential is seasonal, students only attend college for a portion of the year.

    ⁃ Buying Abroad –

Ever wanted to buy an affordable home abroad and stay close to the Holy land of Israel and Medugorge.

    Try moving to Croatia.

  • Considered the patron saint of the Internet, Carlo Acutis was a young Catholic who tried to live his whole life in deep communion and friendship with Jesus.

U.S. bishops chose Acutis to be the patron of their Eucharistic revival initiative to raise awareness, understanding and enthusiasm for the sacrament. The teen can also be an inspiration for those who face suffering and pain in life, Mares said. Despite dying at such a young age, “he was ready to go.

How do you pray to Carlo Acutis?

Venerable Carlo Acutis, you who have lived in the heart of Jesus, give me the grace to apply Jesus’s plan of love to everything. Amen. Pray five “Our Fathers”, five “Hail Marys” and five “Glory Be to the Fathers” to give thanks to God for the grace granted to Carlo in the 15 years of his earthly life.

How many miracles did Carlo Acutis have?

Over a span of two-and-a-half years, he documented 187 Eucharistic miracles. In the midst of his travels, he and his family prayed before hosts that have turned into blood. It is important to note that while he did not come from an overly religious family, he was instrumental in their conversion.

Is Carlo Acutis the first millennial saint?

Carlo Acutis was a little “different” at school, in the pizzerias, and on the soccer field. What set Carlo apart was his constant pursuit of holiness. In addition to his fun hobbies, he spent time teaching catechism classes and serving in soup kitchens.

Carlo Acutis (3 May 1991 – 12 October 2006) was an English-born Italian Catholic youth and website designer who is best known for documenting Eucharistic miracles and the approved Marian apparitions around the world and cataloguing them onto a website which he created before his death from leukemia. He was noted for his cheerfulness, computer skills, and deep devotion to the Eucharist, which became a core theme of his life. He was beatified by the Catholic Church on 10 October 2020, two days before the 14th anniversary of his death.
