  • The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn.

A secret society devoted to studying and practicing of the occult, metaphysics, and paranormal activities during the latter parts of the last century and early part of the 20th century.

Most notibly a magical order, the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn was active in Great Britain and focused its practices on theurgy and spiritual development.

While numerous present-day concepts and ideas of ritual and magic that are at the centre of contemporary traditions, such as Wicca and Thelema, were inspired by the Golden Dawn, which became one of the largest single influences on 20th century Western occultism.

Alistair Crowley & the Golden Dawn.

Alistair Crowley born Edward Alexander Crowley, on the 12th of October 1875, died 1st of December 1947, was a noted and controversial occultist.Founding the religion of Thelema, he wrote widely, identifying himself as the prophet entrusted with guiding humanity into the Æon of Horus in the early 20th century.

Unconventionally defiant, he lived life according to his own dictum: ‘Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law.’

While being a prolific writer, he published widely over the course of his life.Born to a well to do family in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, Crowley rejected his parents’ fundamentalist Christian Plymouth Brethren faith to pursue an interest in Western esotericism.

On a visit to Sweden, he experienced a life-changing vision which persuaded him of his spiritual vocation, a calling which he marked by changing his name to Aleister.

He was educated at Trinity College at the University of Cambridge, where he focused his attentions on mountaineering and poetry, resulting in several publications.

In 1898, he joined the esoteric Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, where he was trained in ceremonial magic by Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers and Allan Bennett. Moving to Boleskine House by Loch Ness in Scotland, he went mountaineering in Mexico with Oscar Eckenstein, before studying Hindu and Buddhist practices in India.

A brilliant climber, big game hunter, and inveterate traveller, Crowley explored Mexico, India, Egypt, America, and much more besides. He married Rose Edith Kelly and in 1904 they honeymooned in Cairo, Egypt, where Crowley claimed to have been contacted by a supernatural entity named Aiwass, who provided him with The Book of the Law, a sacred text that served as the basis for Thelema.

After an unsuccessful attempt to climb Kanchenjunga and a visit to India and China, Crowley returned to Britain, where he attracted attention as a prolific author of poetry, novels, and occult literature. In 1907, he and George Cecil Jones co-founded an esoteric order, the A∴A∴, through which they propagated Thelema.

In 1920, he established the Abbey of Thelema, a religious commune in Cefalù, Sicily where he lived with various followers. His libertine lifestyle led to denunciations in the British press, and the Italian government evicted him in 1923.

He divided the following two decades between France, Germany, and England, and continued to promote Thelema until his death.

In 1920, he moved to Sicily, where he established the Abbey of Thelema as the headquarters for his new religion. Here he pursued spiritual enlightenment, declaring himself Ipssissimus – beyond the Gods – in 1921.

Crowley gained widespread notoriety during his lifetime, being a recreational drug experimenter, bisexual, and an individualist social critic. Crowley has remained a highly influential figure over Western esotericism and the counterculture and continues to be considered a prophet in Thelema.

He is the subject of various biographies and academic studies.
While Crowley’s interests combined the erotic and the esoteric.

Gradually he evolved his own set of beliefs which drew on Oriental, ancient Egyptian, and an assortment of other traditions.

The wickedest man in the world?
During the Thelema Abbey scandal, one newspaper referred to Crowley as ‘the wickedest man in the world.’

He would have denied this, claiming that his work was truly good because it freed men from earthly rules and opened up truly spiritual experiences.

The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn from the Latin: Ordo Hermeticus Aurorae Aureae; or, aka, the Golden Dawn (Aurora Aurea)).

    Mantra, tantra’s and chakra’s.

  • Mantra.

A mantra is a sacred utterance, a numinous sound, a syllable, word or phonemes, or group of words in Sanskrit, Pali and other languages believed to have religious, magical or spiritual powers.

While the mantra Om Mani Padme Hum, is a Buddhist Mantra written in Tibetan Script with Mandala Style.

The earliest mantras were composed in Vedic Sanskrit in India and are at least 3500 years old.

At its simplest, the word ॐ (Aum, Om) serves as a mantra, it is believed to be the first sound which was originated on earth. Aum sound when produced creates a reverberation in the body which helps the body and mind to be calm.

In more sophisticated forms, mantras are melodic phrases with spiritual interpretations such as a human longing for truth, reality, light, immortality, peace, love, knowledge, and action.

Some mantras without literal meaning are musically uplifting and spiritually meaningful.

In Japanese Shingon tradition, the word Shingon means mantra.

While within Zoroastrianism,Taoism, Christianity, and other spiritual traditions, similar hymns, antiphons, chants, compositions, and concepts are observed.

Within the school of tantra, mantras are considered to be of sacred origin and formula, as they are considered deeply personal rituals, effective only after initiation.

Wheras in Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism or Sikhism, the practioner is not required to be initiated before perfing.

    Mantras and chakras.

The word Chakra derives its origin from the Sanskrit language as it has a meaning likened to that of a wheel within the ancient India languages.

Chakras were used as various forms of energy. It is the focal point of the human body used in meditation practice.

The human body has 7 main chakras wherby they can be activated by mantras and meditation.

Each chakra has its own mantras and mudras. While the right mantras and mudras need to be employed to open the chakras. But first it must be known what a chakra is and how it works.

    What are Chakras?

The human body has 7 main energy centers. These major energy centers are called chakras. Chakras run from head to the bottom of the spine.

    The 7 main chakras are:

    • Mooladhara Chakra – The Root Chakra.
    • Swadhisthana Chakra – The Sacral Chakra.
    • Manipura Chakra – The Solar Plexus Chakra.
    • Anahata Chakra – The Heart Chakra.
    • Vishuddhi Chakra – The Throat Chakra.
    • Ajna Chakra – The Third Eye Chakra.
    • Sahasrara Chakra – The Crown Chakra.

Knowing how to chant mantras to activate chakras?

To activate your chakras mantras must be chanted correctly. To chant the mantras for each chakras use your natural voice, do not chant mantras in high or low pitch.

Examples of mantras and their seed sounds.

Perhaps referring to the third tone within our solfeggio scale, the third chakra, the solar system and the dawn or morning, as In A.M.

Crown, Third eye – AUM, OM.

    Throat Ham.

    Heart – Yam.

    Solar plexus – Ram.

    Sacre – Vam.

  • Magic and it’s etymological origins.

    Magic…

Magic, encompassing the subgenres of illusion, stage magic, and close up magic, among others, is a performing art in which audiences are entertained by tricks, effects, or illusions of seemingly impossible feats, using natural means.

It is to be distinguished from paranormal magic which are effects claimed to be created through supernatural means.

While it is one of the oldest performing arts in the world.

The Conjurer, 1475–1480, by Hieronymus Bosch or his workshop.

Notice how the man in the back row steals another man’s purse while applying misdirection by looking at the sky or solar system. The artist even misdirects the viewer from the thief by drawing the viewer to the magician.

Modern entertainment magic, as pioneered by 19th-century magician Jean-Eugène Robert-Houdin, has become a popular theatrical art form.

In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, magicians such as Maskelyne and Devant, Howard Thurston, Harry Kellar, and Harry Houdini achieved widespread commercial success during what has become known as “the Golden Age of Magic”.

Magic and its relation to notes and tones.

During this period, performance magic became a staple of Broadway theatre, vaudeville, and music halls. Magic retained its popularity in the television age, with magicians such as Paul Daniels, David Copperfield, Doug Henning, Penn & Teller, David Blaine, and Derren Brown modernizing the art form.

    The art of Magick or magike, is defined as the “art of influencing or predicting events and producing marvels using hidden natural forces,” also “supernatural art,” especially the art of controlling the actions of spiritual or superhuman beings;

Old English wiccecræft (witch); was displaced as a transferred sense of “legerdemain, an optical illusion, from the 1800‘s.

While the term drycræft, from dry “magician,” possibly derives its origin from the Irish drui “priest or magician” (Druid).

Natural magic in the Middle Ages was that which did not involve the agency of personal spirits; it was considered more or less legitimate, not sinful, and involved much that would be explained scientifically as the manipulation of natural forces.

    Mani – pulation…

    Magic.

    • late Middle English.
    • Old French magique.
    • Latin magicus (adjective), late Latin magica (noun).
    • Greek magikē (tekhnē) ‘(art of) a magus’: magi were regarded as magicians.

    Magi – igam… fire morning, ig AM…

    Magic – cigam – sigma…

  • Magic and its relation to notes and tones.

While it can be observed within many magic traditions which involve movement, how partialur sounds are invoked either to heal, balance or communicate with a magic divinity within…

How certain scales may have been employed in the ancient past with the intention of conjuring magick within…

One such scale which may be the origin of many’s a magick book, may be derived from the solfeggio scale.

Employing seven tones here which may influence what is called seven chakras or energy centres within far Eastern spiritual practice.

We also may surmise how the creators of such languages within the Western world may have derived word origins from other languages and traditions in the past, particularly from the traditions outlined above.

Embedding what we think are ordinary English words for example with particular tones, within magical or faith based scriptures, when in reality words within this language may have an otherworldly origin.

There are seven tones within the solfeggio scale and seven chakras or energy centres.

Do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, ti.

Ma = 3rd chakra, do, re, mi or ma…

    Magic and it’s etymological origins.

Noting how the third tone here is “mi” and how this tone may refer to the third chakra, the solar plexus…

We may surmise here how the sound “ma or mi” in magic may refer to this tone also, referring to the solar plexus…

While the solar plexus is a golden or yellow colour, it is interesting how the Magician and author, Alistair Crowley refers to his magical book as the “Golden Dawn“.

How the word solar in solar plexus may also refer to the solar system, sun and the dawn…

    Golden = solar plexus…
    Dawn = sun & solar system…

While observing certain magical rituals it is interesting to see how similar they are in expression to yoga poses and routines within Indian Aryuvedic spiritual practice.

    Golden dawn postures = yoga.
    Yogam = Magoy or magic.

Noting how the third chakra may also refer to the third eye, the mind and thought.

It may be interesting to note the ancient Egyptian God Thot and the linguistic similarities his name has with thought and perhaps his association with the third eye, the solar plexus and magic.

How the functions of the mind, memory, concentration, thought etc may be enhanced when opening the solar plexus.

    Thoth = mind, 3rd eye…
3rd chakra, 3rd eye, mind, thought, Thoth.

While the letters “gi” and “c”, may refer to chi energy and transmutation of that with which is below the solar plexus, referring to animal base or earthly sources of energy..

    K = ki, chi.
    Magic = ma, gi, c.
    Gi , c = ki or chi..

Wheras the tone sol is present within the words Solfeggio and solar plexus – sol ar plexus…

There are other words found in magic or faith based traditions which have similar tones inserted within them.

    Such words include:
    Hermetic, hermet, her meet.
    Gematria, gi, ma, 3.
    Maitreya, ma, 3, eye…

Denoting the third energy centre or third eye.

    Ti – Crown.
    La – Third eye
    Sol – throat.
    Fa – heart.
    Mi – solar plexus…
    Re – sacre..
    Ut – Do – Root.

Wherein the solar plexus is also associated with the fire it may be interesting to observe how the tone “ma” may be present within the word magma, referring to a rock which we may observe being on fire or of being igneous.

    Magma, igneous.

While the word ignis means fire in Latin.

    Latin: ignis, fire.

The sanskrit word “Mani” is also present within the word Manifest, denoting the solar plexus…

  • Baptised, how many times should Christians?

How many times should Christians be Baptised?

While the following verses within Ephesians 4 presupposes the question, as to whether Christians should be baptized as members of the Christian faith, more than once. Ephesians is traditionally, believed to have been written by Apostle Paul while he was in prison in Rome (around AD 62).

    Ephesians 4

Ephesians 4. – Baptized, Unity and diversity in a baptized church, with One Lord, one faith, one baptism…

Ephesians 4 is the fourth chapter of the Epistle to the Ephesians in the New Testament of the Christian Bible.

Where Rebaptism in Christianity is the baptism of a person who has previously been baptized, usually in association with a denomination that does not recognize the validity of the previous baptism.

When a denomination rebaptizes members of another denomination, it is a sign of significant differences in theology.

Churches that practice exclusive adult baptism, including Baptists and Churches of Christ, rebaptize those who were baptized as infants because they do not consider infant baptism to be valid.

    Rebaptism is generally associated with:

Anabaptism, from Greek ἀνα- (re-) and βαπτίζω (I baptize)

Denominations that require believer’s baptism, such as the Baptist Churches.

    • Mormonism.
    • Oneness Pentecostal churches.

    Baptized again, second baptism.
While the following verses within Ephesians 4 presupposes the question, as to whether Christians should be baptized as members of the Christian faith, more than once. Ephesians is traditionally, believed to have been written by Apostle Paul while he was in prison in Rome (around AD 62).

While endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace one should only be baptised once as everything is in union with the one Father, one faith, whereby followers of Christ need to maintain this union of oneness to follow in the footsteps of his teaching.

The following explains The apostle Paul’s writing’s upon his discipleship toward union with Christ.

Ephesians 4. – Unity and diversity in the church.

3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

    4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Unity and diversity in the church.

(4: 1 – 16). Paul begins the second part of his letter – the exhortation – with the simple point:

live a life worthy of the calling you have received

“live a life worthy of the calling you have received” (v 1).

Previously Paul had chalked out his vocation: to live in the mystery of Christ who was reconciled within himself all peoples as members of a family under one Father.

The Church of Christ is the starting point on earth of this reconciliation.

Hence it is the vocation of the Church to be just this – the sacrament of reconciliation,  a place where unity and peace can be found.

In vv (1 – 6) Paul stresses this unity and the basis of our oneness in the spirit.

    – Biblical references –

    • Rom 16:25, 12:5.
    • Col 1:10, 3:12 -13, 2:19.
    • 1 Cor 8:6, 14:26, 11:3.
    • 2 Cor 13:13.
    • Psalm 68:18.
    • Phil 2:13.

While Paul furthers his point, for the necessity of union between neighbours.

Ephesians 2 – Union of Jews and Gentiles.

13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

(vv 13 – 15). Paul announces that Jesus, by death on a cross, has once and for all done away with this division based on ethnic differences and legal prescriptions.

Jesus is our peace and reconciliation,  who has raised Jews and Gentiles, and all peoples above man made distinctions.

He has revealed to us a whole new way of being human and religious.

He has created a ‘new man’. And so all people, near or far, have access to God the Father.

  • Morning Prayer for clarity, Laudes matutinas…

Wondering if this a rational argument for God?, while performing my Morning Prayer, flash backs of my awakening over the last few years came back to me, this is not an awe inspiring affair, its rather going back to what is simple and natural and yet seeing what things have in common.

Seeing the simplicity and commonality in things, whereas God appears to me in my morning prayer as not a being, but a way, a path within…

What was noticed on this journey of awakening, was the color sequence of the sun which God created, the color it seems to take as it rises and sets in the morning.

Red, orange, yellow, white or green etc, Green if your in space.

This color sequence matches the sequence of colors the Chakra’s or energy centers take on in Indian or Asian spiritual philosophy, it is also the color sequence on our planet.

While some have realized through the act of their morning prayer, that they must deliberately give up the energy within these energy centers to see a bigger picture.

What is needed is to sacrifice your own wants and needs or your own desires and pleasures for the betterment of life.

This is not any easy thing to do, as the mind etc will continually convince you to stop.

And yet if you continue you are becoming good , becoming more aware of how you treat and view life inside and around you, making you more harmonious with life.

Taking the path of good, God or eternal life.

Now the reason I mentioned that the color sequence of these energy centers are the same as our sun’s ascent in the morning, is that if you are sensitive enough to the energies and subtle life forces around you, the Universe will almost feel like a sun rising inside you at some point to turn you inside out and back to being selfless.

Back to being good, where you realize that the only way to create sustainable life within and without is to take this path they call God within…

This path is like having a snake or fire 🔥 wind its way up you showing you the positive and negative in everything.

To the point where your feelings and mind are all over the place, where no decision can be made only to let go of control and trust that the Universe has your back.

This thing that guides within calls itself God, don’t ask me why.

While a recent dream had of a twin flame meditation… Reveals how to awaken the heart.

Waking up at 4:30.. am every morning, sitting up, spine erect..

Eyes open for half an hour, sit with feet and palm’s together in praying motion 🙏…

Your heart will begin to open up, once you can feel love in your heart your vibrating on that frequency, you’ll see better romantic interactions over time with this meditation…

Your basically giving up that which is below you, to find love with life, not to control it or use it for your own gratification…

There is powerful energy at this time in the morning, you can channel it.

The following passages within the Bible, demonstrate the importance of praying in the evening and early in the morning.

    Psalm 4:4.

    An evening prayer of confidence.

    Pslam 4. – A pslam of David.

Living amidst deceitful and lieing people, the psalmist affirms his trust in God because he has experienced God’s goodness and favour. He can go to bed in peace. To be used profitably as an evening prayer.

    Holy Bible app, Psalm 4.

    1. Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.

    2. O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah.

    3. But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him.

    4. Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.

    5. Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.

    6. There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? LORD, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.

    7. Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.

    8. I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.

    New community Bible.

    Psalm 4:1.

Answer me when I call, O God, my Justice! when I was in distress, you gave me solace. have compassion on me, and hear my plea.

    2. How long, you mortals, will you harden your hearts? How long will you delight in deceit? How long will you love what is false?

    3. You must know that the LORD does wonders for his faithful people;

the LORD hear’s me when I call to him.

    4. In your anger do not sin: ponder in your own heart when you are on.

    5. Offer right sacrifices, and put your trust in the LORD.

    6. Many ask, “when are we to see better times? Let your face shine upon us, O Lord!”.

    7. Let them rejoice in their abundant wine and grain; you have given far more to me.

    8. I lie down, and at once i sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me rest in safety.

    An evening prayer of confidence.

    Pslam 4. – A pslam of David.

Living amidst deceitful and lieing people, the psalmist affirms his trust in God because he has experienced God’s goodness and favour. He can go to bed in peace. To be used profitably as an evening prayer.

    Mark 1:35.

Jesus knew of the value and importance of praying early in the morning, while this is reflected within the following verse.

Jesus prays in a solitary place.

Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed”.

    New community Bible.

    Pslam 5. – A pslam of David.

In various religious traditions, early morning is considered a favourable time to meet God. At Daybreak, the psalmist turns to God with his plea for justice.

    1. O Lord , listen to my words, and see my distress, my sad plight.

    3. O Lord, at Daybreak you hear my voice; at daybreak i place my case before you and wait expectantly.

    7. But i, by your abundant love, will come into your house. In reverence i bow down and worship at your holy Temple.

    11. But let those who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy.

Let your deliverence shield them, that those who love your name may praise you in gladness.

    Holy Bible app.

    Psalm 5.

    1. Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation.

    3. My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

    7. But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.

    11. But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.

  • The lamp of the body.

    Mathew 6:22.
The lamp of the body is the eye.

    Matthew 6:22.

“The lamp of the body is the eye; if your eyes are sound, your whole body will be full of light”.

Such detachment makes possible the generosity to which Jesus invites us in the saying that follows (6:22) about the ‘good’ and the ‘bad’ (or ‘evil’) eye.

In Jewish tradition having a good eye means being a generous person.

Having an evil eye, means being mean and niggardly.

The saying presupposes the ancient theory of light: that the eye sees, not from receiving reflected light from outside, (but like the beam of a torch) by illuminating objects with light from within itself.

While our lives have been impacted in a major way with the COVID-19 pandemic, facing challenging situations which have lead to stressful, overwhelming strong emotions.

Whereas public health actions, such as social distancing, are necessary to reduce the spread of COVID-19, they can make us feel isolated and lonely and can increase stress and anxiety.

  • Sound healing…

Sound Healing in itself is effective, simply because it influences our emotional state as well as our physical body.

While we may feel emotionally imbalanced at times, this too can lead to many physical diseases, whereas when we heal our emotions, we notice how the physical symptoms disappear aswel.

Wherein if we presuppose that everything has a vibrational frequency, including ourselves, it would make sense that sound frequencies impact how we feel.

Reflecting upon how many songs and genres of music often bring about particular types of emotions within us.

While singing bowls, gongs, and drums are the instruments that practitioners most often use in sessions.

However, if used with the proper intention, almost any instrument can be used in sound healing.

And although sound healing has grown in popularity in recent years, it is a healing modality which dates back thousands of years.

Throughout numerous spiritual groups and traditions, vocal chanting is used as a means to balance and heal, whereas some form of sound healing is found in every culture on Earth.

There are many illnesses which can be treated with the same healing practices,

While certain frequencies have been identified and obtained within the sound healing practices we observe throughout cultures and faiths.

The following are just some every day diseases and disorders which can be healed with particular frequencies.

    Examples:

    • Dementia.
    • Coronavirus.
    • Colon cancer.

    Coronavirus frequency.

Freedom from coronavirus from listening to this healing frequency.

    Dementia healing frequency.

Here the same frequencies for healing dementia can also be used to heal (PTSD), (BPD), (ASD), (ADHD), (OCD), etc.

    Colon cancer healing frequency.

  • Daniel 11…

While coming across so many passages in the Bible which allude to God as being a bird and a reptile, why?

    Daniel 11:36,42,43.

Ra or Horus is the God of Gods, the bird with the risen snake above his head.

Yahweh is also referred to as the leviathan, that dragon in the sea, again the dragon is a reptile with wings.

    Isaiah 27:1.

Jesus refers to himself as the bright morning star in Revelation 22:16, while in Isaiah 14:12 the one who falls out of heaven “Lucifer” is also referred to as the morning star.

Satan or Lucifer have wings like a bird and are also referred to being reptillian, as snakes in the garden of Eden.

Interestingly there is a deity within the Mesoamerican pantheon who is also referred to as the morning star and he is also a reptilian bird or feathered serpent kukulkan or quetzalcoatl.

If this imagery of the dragon exists within far eastern mythology, we may be able to apply theories purpoting to energy centres when trying to understand why the dragon in red.

The root energy centre within ancient spiritual philosophy is red and represents the roots of trees within the material ground, energies purpoting to create life from the ground up and materialism, therefore the red dragon represents material possessions and desires.

Theoretically if there existed an animal within the nature once, which could fly like a bird, swim in the sea like a snake and navigate the land, it would be the only animal which could do this.

Adherents to such an image may develop a holistic understanding of themselves within, while those worshipping other images may be confined to a particular region or cycle, only able survive in such times.
